The UK needs over 250,000 more construction workers by 2028. Yet, women make up less than 2% of skilled trades.
That’s not because women aren’t interested; it’s because the system isn’t built for them.
From training and safety to culture and confidence, barriers exist at every step.
And when half the population is missing, the whole industry feels it. Development stalls, skills gaps widen, and businesses lose out on talent and innovation.
We Build Too is a new platform for the underrepresented in construction.
We help more women get in, stay in, and thrive in construction through:
Training and support – building business, financial, and confidence skills.
Community and mentorship – a verified, safe digital space to connect and learn.
Visibility and voice – showcasing women who are already leading the way.
Consulting for change – we help education providers and employers attract and keep diverse talent. We do this through research, workshops, and strategy.
As the platform grows, it will create valuable gender-segregated data. This will help industry partners see what works, track progress, and prove change.
Over time, this becomes a blueprint for best practice. Creating a franchise model to reinvest in the women and communities who power it.
Our founder, Anna, isn’t from the construction industry, and that’s our advantage.
She noticed from outside how outdated and unsatisfactory things were for customers and workers.
Customers are demanding better service and representation.
Training and workplaces are designed without women in mind.
And too many great people are walking away because they cannot see a future.
We Build Too started from that frustration. We can design something better together.
Anna has a background in design, research, and innovation. She uses her creativity and insight to solve complex problems. This work improves life for both people and businesses. That same approach is the foundation of We Build Too.
We’re helping construction become an industry that reflects society. Where anyone can build a career, feel safe, and belong.
We empower women and underrepresented groups. This closes the UK’s skills gap. It boosts innovation and creates a stronger, more resilient, and inclusive industry.
We also back the UK’s Social Value and ESG goals. Aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals for:
Quality Education (SDG 4)
Gender Equality (SDG 5)
Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8)
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9)
Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10)
Because when more people can build, we all build better.
